Hello Race Fans! The Tour of Georgia is now more than half way over! Four out of seven days are in the books now that we've completed todays Chickamauga to Lookout Mountain, GA time trial. Yesterday's stage was a bit of an anomaly; through a series of unfortunately events we missed the winning breakaway which was a group of 13 riders who finished nearly one half hour ahead of the field. Darn. That's racing. Therefore, our GC hopes are out the window so we soft pedaled through today's stage just to make time cut in hopes of going for stage wins in subsequent days. This is no slouch of a time trial - geeze, it was a flippin' hill climb! We climbed 2400' in under 19 miles. Thankfully, our good friend Eddy lives at the top of the mountain and he and his wife Carley fed us like CHAMPIONS immediately after the race! Hamburgers, chicken, chips, salsa, salad, fruit, bean salad, and deeeelicious cookies.
Tomorrow the race goes uphill pretty much all day. It's the Tour's queen stage with lots of uncategorizes climbs all day and then the infamous Brasstown Bald. Sooo wish us luck!
