Aaaaand scene!

tedking-3863The "scene" being an old iron bridge somewhere in the heart of Kansas. Funny, Dirty Kanza was one week ago. In fact, as I write this, I think it was exactly one week ago, literally to the hour, that I finished up my race. Photo courtesy of Linda Guerrette.Since then there's been some unfortunate controversy swirling around the race. It's a shame and leaves a minute sliver of detraction. The reality, though, is that an event like DK200 represents the future growth of the sport. For the organizers to bring 2,000 people from all over the country and around the world to northeastern Kansas, with the biggest inhibitor being a lack of infrastructure in the area (read: it's middle of nowhere farmland; there's nowhere to put more than 2,000 people to sleep!), that's an incredible statement unto itself.I won't bore you with details here, because my goal is to get you to read my column on Strava. Check it out HERE.And with that, I wish you a great weekend.2016-06-11_1605--Photo: Andy White
